| 内容 | 被爆後の広島市内の風景をスケッチした高増径草氏の息子・高増文雄氏の日記(1945年8月23日～11月25日)。当時は吉田町(現・安芸高田市)に疎開中。初等科4年生。9月9日、径草さんは、文雄さんを連れ入市、米マンハッタン管区調査団に同行していたカメラマン・ウェイン・ミラーに、市内をスケッチする様子を撮影された。 「九月九日 今日の朝三時吉田口へあるいて、お父さんとぼくと二人が行きました。(中略)広島えきに降りて、広島えきの絵をお父さんが書かれました。それから四方の絵を書いていられると、アメリカの新聞の記者がお父さんの所へ来て、三べん写真を取って、アメリカ式のけい礼をして、あちらへ行きました。…」 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Diary Donated by Tetsuya Takamasu This is a diary written by Mr. Fumio Takamasu, who was a fourth-year elementary school student at that time. His father Keiso entered Hiroshima to sketch the city after the bombing with his son, who had been evacuated to Yoshida-cho. While Keiso was sketching in the city on September 9th, Keiso was captured on film by a photographer accompanying the Manhattan District Research Team. “August 14th. Today, my father, my elder sister, and I, woke up at 3:00 a.m. and headed to Hiroshima. Everything had burned and fallen down. Since corpses were cremated at air raid shelters, everything smelled very bad, making me very sick. There were no places without shards of glass...” “September 9th. Today, my father and I, walked to Yoshida-guchi at 3:00 a.m. (...) We got off the train at Hiroshima Station. My father drew a picture of the station. Then, while my father was drawing pictures of various places, an American news reporter came up to him and took three photographs. Before leaving, the reporter gave us an American-style salute...” |
