| 内容 | 広島県北部在住だった寄贈者の堀田博之さん(当時13歳)は、原爆が投下された1945(昭和20)年8月6日午前8時15分、学校で朝礼を受けている時に、西の山の上に閃光を見た。翌7日には、広島市内の建物疎開作業に動員されていた近所の農家の男性で編成された「甲神部隊」が、大やけどの重傷で戻ってきた。堀田さんの家の裏にあった武徳殿には5､60人の負傷者が寝かされ、次々と亡くなっていった。そんな体験は、堀田さんの心に深く刻まれ、1947年(昭和22年)､旧制中学4年生の時に数人の友人とこの｢平和投票｣用紙を作成､断られながらも､小さな町の一軒一軒を尋ね歩いて｢平和宣言｣の署名集めを行った｡これは署名運動をした時に使用した投票用紙。 1950(昭和25)年8月6日には、堀田さんは仲間の学生たち10人とともに朝鮮戦争に反対し､デモ行進を行った。当時は占領下の時代で、取り締まりが厳しく、全員が逮捕されたが、その後も平和活動を続けた。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Peace Vote form Donated by Hiroyuki Hotta The donor Hiroyuki Hotta (then, 13) lived in the northern part of Hiroshima Prefecture. At 8:15am on August 6, 1945, the day that the bomb was dropped, he was participating in the morning assembly at school when he saw a flash of light above the mountains to the west. The next day, farmers from his neighborhood, who had been mobilized to perform building demolition work in Hiroshima City, came back with serious burn injury. There were 50-60 of the wounded who were laid down in the area behind the Hotta family home, and they died one after the other, suffering from the pain. This experience left a deep emotional impression on Hiroyuki, and in 1947, when he was a 4th year junior high school student (in the old system) he and some of his friends created this ‘Peace Vote’ form. Despite rejections from some, they walked round to each house in the small town and gathered signatures for a ‘Peace Declaration.’ Letter from Hiroyuki Hotta (summary): This Peace Vote was one step towards concrete action on how to live as human beings, which we had been searching for as youth in a military state that had lost the war, and in light of our experience of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Even at the age of 78, ‘Hiroshima, August 6’ remains with me like a demon. |
