| 内容 | 寄贈者の母・大澤嘉津子(かつこ)さん(当時10歳)は、自宅で父・長次(ちょうじ)さん、祖母・トミさん、兄・隆(たかし)さんとともに被爆した。家は崩れ、父に背負われ、兄とともに、海田の親戚宅まで避難した。数日後、はぐれていた祖母のトミさんを発見。海田に連れ帰った。トミさんは、体に無数のガラス片が刺さり、戦後何年も、ガラス片が体から出続けた。この辞書は、嘉津子さんが、自宅から避難するときに持っていたもの。嘉津子さんは、大変勉強好きで、この辞書を亡くなるまで大切にしていた。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Dictionary Donated by Tsukasa Fukutomi Approx. 2,000m from the hypocenter Senda-machi Ms. Katsuko Osawa (then, 10) was exposed to the A-bombing while at home in Senda-machi together with her father Choji, grandmother Tomi, and elder brother Takashi. The house collapsed. Carried on his father’s back, she escaped together with her brother to their relative’s home outside the city. A few days later, they found Tomi, who had become separated from them, and took her to the relative’s home. Countless shards of glass were stuck in Tomi’s body. The shards continued to be extracted from her body for many years after the end of the war. This dictionary is what Katsuko had with her when she evacuated from her home. Katsuko really liked studying and preserved the dictionary with considerable care until she died. She seldom talked about the atomic bombing. All she said about the disaster was that she had literally seen hell while escaping, and could never forget the smell in the city of that time. |
