| 展示説明文 | 体内から摘出されたガラス片 寄贈／小林登氏 爆心地から約1,100ｍ 幟町 寄贈者の義母・宮地房子さん(当時22歳)は､髪を整えるために行っていた幟町の美容院で被爆しました｡左ほほにガラス片が突き刺さり､左半身に大やけどを負って意識を失いました｡意識が戻ったのは3日後で､どうやって運ばれたのか似島の救護所にいました｡赤チンを塗る程度の治療しか受けられず､傷口はザクロのようになり､ウジがわきました｡房子さんは､88歳で亡くなるまでこのガラス片をずっと大切にしていました｡ 小林さんのお話から これらは､いつごろどうやって取り出したのかまったく分かりません｡8月6日が近づくと､ぽつぽつ原爆の話をすることはありましたが､多くを語ることはありませんでした｡捨てられなかったのは､さまざまな想いがあったからだと思います｡ |
| 展示説明文（英語） | Surgically removed shards of glass Donated by Noboru Kobayashi Approx. 1,100m from the hypocenter Nobori-cho Fusako Miyachi (then, 22), the donor's mother-in-law, experienced the bombing while getting her hair done at a beauty salon in Nobori-cho. Shards of glass were driven into her left cheek and the left half of her body sustained major burns leaving her unconscious. She regained consciousness three days later at the aid station on Ninoshima Island, where she had somehow been taken. With Mercurochrome the only treatment available for her injuries, her wounds swelled like the arils of a pomegranate and teemed with maggots. Fusako carefully preserved these shards of glass until her death at the age of 88. Noboru Kobayashi recalls: I don't know when or how these were removed from my mother's body. Every year as August 6 approached, she'd talk a little of the bombing, but she never said much. I think she never threw these shards away because they held some memory for her. |
