| 内容 | 1949(昭和24)年頃､爆心地の島病院とその付近で収集したもの｡表面の釉薬が溶けて泡沫状となり､一部火災により焼けている｡原爆により､島病院では､職員･患者･付き添いの人など約75人全てが即死､壁の厚さが1メートルあった建物も壊滅した｡6日､院長の島薫さん(当時48歳)は､甲山町の病院で手術をしており無事であった｡救援の要請を受け､すぐに市内に戻ったが向洋で汽車は止まり､そこからは徒歩で入市し､焼け残った横川の広島市信用組合の二階に寝泊りしながら被災者の診療を続けた｡ |

| 展示説明文 | 原爆は相生橋の東南にある島病院の上空でさく裂しました｡当日､市外に出張していた院長の島薫氏(当時48歳)は､警察の救援要請を受け､急ぎ広島に引き返しました｡相生橋近くでは、｢先生！助けて！｣とすがってくる人々を治療しながら､病院までもどりました｡建物は壊滅し､病院職員･患者など約75人が死亡しました｡病院の再建に着手したのは､被爆から3年後のことでした｡この瓦片は1949(昭和24)年ころ島病院とその周辺で収集したもので､熱線により､表面が泡状になっています｡ |
| 展示説明文（英語） | Shima Hospital (hypocenter) area Saiku-machi (now, Ote-machi 1-chome) The atomic bomb exploded in the sky over the Shima Hospital, located southeast of the Aioi Bridge. Hospital Director Kaoru Shima (then, 48) who was out of town on business, received a police order to engage in relief and rushed back to Hiroshima. He returned to his hospital, along the way helping people near the bridge who clung to him and pleaded, Doctor! Help me! The building was destroyed and about 75 staff, patients, and others were dead. Three years later, he set about rebuilding the hospital. These roof tiles were found around 1949 at or near the hospital. Their surfaces were blistered by the heat ray. |
