内容 | 県立広島第一高等女学校2年生の浜田幸子さん(当時13歳)は、学徒動員先である古田町の広島航空会社で被爆した。幸子さんらがいた建物は倒壊したが、無傷で避難することができた。被爆から約1週間後、母親と学校の焼け跡に行き、瓦礫の中からこの観音像を見つけ、大切に保存していた。 |

展示説明文(英語) | Sachiko Hamada (then, 13), a second-year student at the First Hiroshima Prefectural Girls High School, was exposed at a factory in Furuta-machi while working as a mobilized student. Although the building collapsed, she miraculously escaped without injury. A week later, she went to the burnt ruins of her school with her mother Yoneko where she found this Kannon statue amidst the rubble and kept it as a prized memento. |
