| 内容 | 寺岡源助さん(当時53歳)の自宅焼け跡から掘り出したもの。当時、源助さんの妻のヨシさん(当時50歳)は孫2人とともに緑井に疎開しており、十日市町の自宅には源助さんが一人で暮らしていた。原爆投下の3日前、疎開先に源助さんがやってきて「近いうち、軍に布団を納める仕事が終わったら、自分もここに疎開する。」と言ったのが最後になった。息子の秀夫さんは、仕事の関係で大阪で生活していたが、8月末に広島に帰ってきた。ヨシさんが、自宅焼け跡を人に頼んで掘って貰ってもなにも見つけることができなかったが、9月20日、秀夫さんが焼け跡を掘ったところ、ようやく源助さんの遺骨やこれらの遺品を見つけることができた。 |

| 展示説明文 | 懐中時計、腕時計 寄贈/寺岡雅義[テラオカ マサヨシ] 爆心地から700m 十日市町[トウカイチマチ](現在の十日市町一丁目) 寄贈者の祖父･寺岡源助[ゲンスケ]さん(当時53歳)は自宅で被爆しました｡原爆投下の3日前､寄贈者の雅義さん(当時4歳)兄弟と､祖母のヨシさん(当時50歳)の疎開先に来た源助さんは､｢近いうち､仕事が終わったら､自分もここに疎開する｡｣と言っていましたが､それが最後の別れとなってしまいました｡9月20日､源助さんの一人息子･秀夫[ヒデオ]さん(当時34歳)が､自宅焼け跡を掘ったところ､源助さんの遺骨とこれらの遺品が見つかりました｡ 源助さんから息子･秀夫さんに宛てた手紙､召集を知らせる電報 大阪に住む秀夫さんに召集令状が来たことを伝える手紙と電報です｡秀夫さんは入隊前に終戦を迎え､源助さんは原爆で亡くなりました｡召集が決まった一人息子を案じる父の気遣いがこもったこの手紙は､秀夫さんにとって父の形見となりました｡ [手紙]｢･･･当方皆無事御安堵下さい｡ついては今日夕方とうとう召集令状が来ましたから､左の通り準備して帰宅(しなさい)｡(中略)種子(秀夫さんの妻)に心配させぬ様良く言ってきかせなさい｡(中略)気を付けて無事で入営出来るよう体を大切にしなさい｡｣ [電報]｢臨時応召 期日は28日 文にて送る｣ |
| 展示説明文（英語） | Pocket watch, wristwatch Donated by Masayoshi Teraoka 700m from the hypocenter Tokaichi-machi (now, Tokaichi-machi 1-chome) Gensuke Teraoka (then, 53), the donor’s grandfather, experienced the atomic bombing at home. Three days before the bombing, Gensuke visited his wife, Yoshi (then, 50), and grandsons, including the donor, Masayoshi (then, 4), at their evacuation site outside of the city, telling them his work would soon be finished and he’d be able to join them there. That was the last time they would meet. His son, Hideo (then, 34), discovered his remains and these belongings while digging out the burned ruins of his home on September 20. Letter and telegram This is a letter and telegram Gensuke sent to his son, Hideo, in Osaka announcing that Hideo was being called up for military service. The war finished before Hideo enlisted, and Gensuke died in the atomic bombing. This letter shows Gensuke’s concern for his only son’s draft orders and Hideo thought it as a memento of his father. (Excerpt) “Please know that everyone here is safe. You’ll see that your draft papers have arrived tonight, so prepare the things on the left and return home. (omitted) Please say what you can to make sure that Taneko (Hideo’s wife) doesn’t worry about you.
