| 内容 | 県立広島第二中学校の下足袋。寄贈者の梅原重信さんは、1943(昭和18)年4月に同校に入学し、1944(昭和19)年1月まで通っていた。父親の転勤で大阪の豊中中学校に転校したが、この下足袋は今日まで大切に保管していた。当時は物のない時代で、この下足入れも木綿ではなく、スフで出来ている。 |

| 展示説明文 | 寄贈者・梅原重信さんは1943年(昭和18年)4月に県立広島第二中学校に入学し､1944年(昭和19年)1月まで通っていました｡その後､父親の転勤で大阪の学校に転校しましたが､これらを今日まで大切に保管していました｡原爆で県立広島第二中学校の生徒は大きな被害を受け､寄贈者の後輩たちの数多くが亡くなりました｡当時は物のない時代で､この下足袋も木綿ではなくスフ(＊注)でできています｡ ＊スフ：ステープル・ファイバーの略｡羊毛や綿の代用品として考案された人造繊維｡とても破れやすかった｡ |
| 展示説明文（英語） | Shigenobu Umehara, the donor, attended Second Hiroshima Prefectural Junior High School from April 1943 to January 1944. He then transferred to a school in Osaka when his father's job was transferred. Shigenobu has carefully kept these articles until today. Students of Second Hiroshima Prefectural Junior High School were greatly affected by the bombing, with many of the donor's junior students dying in the attack. Since everything was in short supply in those days, this shoe sack was made of staple fibers (*note), rather than cotton. *Staple fiber: An artificial fiber used as a substitute for wool and cotton. The fiber was very fragile. |
