| 内容 | 寄贈者の父・高橋雅紀(まさのり)さんの鞄。広島電鉄家政女学校の教頭をしていた雅紀さんは、皆実町の下宿から学校へ向かう途中で被爆。爆風で電車道の向こう側まで吹き飛ばされたが、幸い大きなけがはなかった。雅紀さんは、負傷した生徒を連れて似島へ向かい、しばらく看病を続けたらしい。その後、郷里の島根県に帰り、教師や村長をしていたが、体調はすぐれず、やがて寝込むようになり、阿須那村長在職中の昭和27年11月に亡くなった。原爆で多くの生徒を亡くした雅紀さんは、原爆について多くを語らなかった。この鞄は、雅紀さんが被爆までの40年間、愛用していたものだったが、被爆後は使用することなく、大切に保管していた。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Leather bag Donated by Shizuo Takahashi (Masaki’s eldest son) Approx. 2,300 m from the hypocenter Minami-machi Masaki Takahashi (then, 52), the vice-principal of Hiroshima Dentetsu Domestic Science Girls School, was exposed to the atomic bomb on his way to school from his lodging. He was blown across to the opposite side of the road by the blast, but he was not seriously injured. He took his injured students to Ninoshima Island and took care of them for some time there. After the war, Masaki returned to his home in Shimane Prefecture. He was in poor health and soon became confined to bed. He became weaker and weaker day by day and died in 1952. Masaki lost many of his students to the atomic bomb andnever talked much about the atomic bombing. He used this bag for 40 years before the bombing, but after the bombing he kept it carefully and never used it again. |
