| 内容 | 関都さん(当時17歳)は、己斐の被服支廠の分所で勤務中に被爆した。幸いけがは負わず、6日夜には段原の自宅に帰った。家は無事だったが、空襲を避けるため都さんは近くのぶどう畑へ避難した。父親の菊松さん(当時55歳)は爆心地近くの勤務先へ行く途中に被爆したと思われるが、行方不明。母親のイソさん(当時60歳)は町内会での建物疎開作業中に被爆。けがを負ってはいたがやけどはなく比較的元気で帰ってきて、都さんとともに行方の分からない菊松さんを捜して毎日毎日市内の救護所などを歩き回っていたが、10月22日に死亡した。このかばんは、もう物の少なくなった1944(昭和19)年頃、菊松さんが都さんに買ってくれたもの。大正時代から菊松さんは反戦運動を続けており、当時の世情で一家は大変な苦労をした。都さんが父に買ってもらったものはこれだけで、苦労をかける家族への菊松さんの償いの気持ちがこもっていた。 |

| 展示説明文 | 川本(旧姓 関)都さんは､己斐の陸軍被服支廠分所で被爆｡幸いけがはなく､夜までかかって段原の自宅近くまで歩き､同じく勤労奉仕先から帰った母親のイソさんと再会しました｡帰ってこない父親の菊松さんを捜して､都さんとイソさんは連日市内の救護所や遺体置場を歩き回りましたが､菊松さんの消息は分かりませんでした｡イソさんもやがて下痢などの症状が出始め､10月22日に亡くなりました｡都さんが被爆当日も持っていたこのバッグは､菊松さんに買ってもらった唯一の贈り物です｡ 寄贈者の手記より 終戦の前年､本通りの商店も大半は店を閉めており､その店も戸口を半開きにして商売をしていました｡父はなけなしのお金で母と私にバッグを買い､照れくさそうに手渡しました｡私たちは戸惑いながらもうれしさを隠せませんでした｡長年反戦運動をして家に帰らなかったり収入が途絶えたりで､家族に迷惑をかけた父の､償いの気持ちだとわかったからです｡父と原爆､そして昭和を語るものとして､捨てることができません｡ |
| 展示説明文（英語） | Miyako Kawamoto (formerly, Seki)was exposed at the Army Clothing Depot Branch in Koi. Unhurt, she walked all day to get near home in Dambara. There she reunited with her mother, Iso, who returned from her labor service project. Miyako and Iso, daily searched for her father, Kikumatsu, in the relief stations and corpse collection spots around the city. They never learned what happened to him. Iso soon came down with diarrhea and other A-bomb-related disorders, and died on October 22. This bag Miyako caried that day is the only gift Kikumatsu had given her. (from Miyako Kawamoto's account) In the year before the war ended, Japan was running out of everything. Most of the stores on Hondori were closed. One business that sold bags was only partially open. My father used his scant money to buy bags for my mother and me and handed them to us shyly. We were flustered but could hardly contain our happiness. We understood that he meant it as compensation. A long time antiwar activist, he had stayed out at night, run out of money, and burdened the family in other ways. I can't throw it away because it speaks of my father, the atomic bombing, and the Showa Period. |
