| 内容 | 県立広島第一高等女学校１年生の中島正子さんは、学徒動員先である土橋付近の建物疎開作業現場で被爆した。父・秀継さん、母・瑞枝さん、兄・胖さん(当時14歳)、弟・弘さんは、自宅で被爆。天井は吹き飛んだが、全員無事であった。 父・秀継さんは、すぐに胖さんを連れて、正子さんを探しに自宅を飛び出した。作業現場付近までたどりついたが、正子さんを見つけることはできず、現場近くで、きちんと畳んで置いてあった、名札がついたままの正子さんの制服だけが見つかった。胖さんは、制服を抱きしめて泣き崩れた。正子さんは、胖さんがどこにいくにも「お兄ちゃま、お兄ちゃま」と慕い、ズボンのすそをぎゅっと握ってついてくるような妹で、胖さんは正子さんを非常にかわいがっていた。この制服は、正子さん本人の手作りで、当日着ていったものであるが、現場で着替え、畳んで置いていたと思われる。正子さんの遺体は現在も見つかっていない。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Girl’s school uniform Donated by Emiko Nakajima 800m from the hypocenter Near Dohashi Masako Nakajima was a first-year student at First Hiroshima Prefectural Girls High School who had been mobilized for building demolition and experienced the atomic bombing at her demolition site. Her father, Hidetsugu; mother, Mizue; older brother; Yutaka (then, 14); and younger brother, Hiroshi, experienced the bombing while at their home. Although the roof was blown off, they were all safe. Hidetsugu and Yutaka quickly dashed from the house to look for Masako. They arrived at a place near the demolition site, but were unable to find her. Nearby they found only her uniform, which was neatly folded with the nametag still attached to it. They say that Yutaka held the uniform tightly and broke down crying. Masako was the type of little sister who would yell after her older brother whenever he was going somewhere and hold on to the hems of his pant legs. This uniform was handmade by Masako and she was wearing it on the day of the bombing. Masako’s body has never been found. |
