| 内容 | 広島市役所税務課に勤務していた辻岡義雄さん(当時38歳)は､出勤途中に白神社前付近の電車内で被爆した｡妻正子さん(当時33歳)や長女の悦子さん(当時11歳)ら家族は､半壊した自宅で火の海の市街地を眺めながら､朝元気な姿で出勤していった義雄さんを｢きっと帰ってくる｣と信じて待っていた｡8日に義雄さんが知人宅にいることが判明､翌日正子さんが迎えに行くと､右半身に火傷､頭部に打撲を負っていたが､被爆後比治山や船越の救護所に身を寄せたことを語り､九死に一生を得たと話していた｡しかし懸命な看護の甲斐もなく､8月10日朝､妻と娘に看取られながら息を引き取った｡これは当日義雄さんが身につけていたもの｡ |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Yoshio Tsujioka (then 38) was exposed to the atomic bombing in a streetcar on his way to work. Believing that Yoshio would be sure to come home, his wife, Masako (then 33), their oldest daughter, Etsuko (then 11), and others waited for him, looking at the sea of fire of the urban area from their half-collapsed house. Learning that he had been staying at an acquaintance’s home, Masako went there to pick him up on the 9th. When she met Yoshio with burns to his right body and a bruise to his head, he said to her that he had narrowly escaped the death; however, Yoshio took his last breath on the 10th despite the desperate care of Masako and others. |
