| 内容 | 寄贈者の父・砂田登(すなだのぼる)さん(当時34歳)が、被爆後、舟入幸町の自宅から郊外に避難するときに持っていたもの。登さんは被爆から5年後の1950年(昭和25年)に亡くなったため詳細は分からないが、水筒を大切に保管し、それを納めた箱に下記のような言葉を書き残していた。「昭和20年8月6日原爆の時 舟入幸町の自宅より持出した記念の水筒 緑井小学校まであるいた 外には米五升と”カヤ” だけどその晩から役立つ物ばかりだった。」 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Canteen Donated by Kazunori Tamada This is what Mr. Noboru Sunada (then, 34) had with him when he evacuated to the suburbs from his home in Funairi-saiwai-cho after being exposed to the A-bombing. Since Noboru died at the age of 39 in 1950, five years after the atomic bombing, the details of this canteen are unknown. However, he preserved the item with considerable care, storing it in a box on which he had written the following explanation: “Commemorative canteen that I brought from my home in Funairi-saiwai-cho at the time of the atomic bombing on August 6th, 1945. I walked to Midorii Elementary School. Other than that, I was only with 5 sho of rice (1 sho = approx. 1.5 kg) and some kaya (Japanese torreya), but they were all useful that I could use them from that night.” |
