| 展示説明文 | ロバート・トラマーさん 当時19歳 アメリカ海軍のトラマーさんは、兵士を陸地に運ぶ、小型船の操縦士でした。 トラマーさんは、1945年10月13日、仲間と共に広島の街を歩きました。 息子さんの話より 戦争が終わり、日本兵と会って笑顔を交わし合えたことを父はとても喜んでいました。何年もの間、父の頭の中には戦争のことしかありませんでしたが、広島にいる間に父が見たのは、「敵」ではない人間としての人々の姿だったのだと思います。 焼け跡で拾った急須やさかずき 寄贈：ランドール・トラマー |
| 展示説明文（英語） | Robert Trummer Then 19 Robert Trummer was in the US Navy. His assignment was to pilot a landing craft, carrying soldiers from the ships to the beaches during battles. On October 13, 1945, he and a few fellow sailors walked among the ruins of Hiroshima. Words of Randall, Robert’s son: He was happy that the war was over, and very happy to meet and share smiles with Japanese soldiers. I believe that his focus for years had been on the war, but when he was in Hiroshima he was seeing people who were not “the enemy” but rather human beings.
