| 展示説明文（英語） | Light bulb for blackouts Donated by Akira Sera Approx. 1,400m from the hypocenter, Hiratsuka-cho (now, Nishi-hiratsuka-cho) This light bulb was buried in the semi-underground air-raid shelter in the donor’s yard. The atomic bombing completely destroyed the house but left the air-raid shelter. The sides of this blackout light bulb were painted so that light would emit from the bottom only. The purpose was to prevent household light from escaping outside during air raids. |
