| 内容 | 原子爆弾が投下され、広島市に隣接する西条には、その日の午後には大けがを負った人達が国鉄でどんどん逃れてくるようになった。西条農学校3年生だった折川健さん(当時16歳)らは、2度3度と担架で負傷者を病院に運んだ。翌7日から、健さんは地区の消防団員2人とともに広島市へ救援・救護活動に向かい、薬研堀筋で道路を片付ける等の作業を行った。水道の鉄管を柱にしてトタン小屋を建て、そこに寝泊まりしながら3泊4日で救援活動を行った。これは、その作業中に自転車屋の焼け跡で見つけたもので、今日まで大切に保管していた。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Bicycle tool found in the charred rubble Donated by Takeshi Orikawa On the afternoon of August 6, Takeshi Orikawa (then, 16), a third-year Saijo Agricultural High School student, used a stretcher to carry the injured who had fled one after another to Saijo. From the next day, he traveled to Hiroshima with the regional fire brigade to carry out rescue and relief work and participated in cleanup activities along Yagembori Street. He built a corrugated iron shack and slept there while continuing with relief activities. He found this bicycle tool in the charred rubble of a bike store while he was carrying out relief work and carefully held on to it. |
