| 内容 | 寄贈者が生まれた時に母が買ってくれた市松人形。母(当時38歳)は、建物疎開作業中に被爆、焼けていないのは胸部だけという大やけどを負った。父と長兄が看病したが、8月24日、収容先の大河国民学校で死亡した。学童集団疎開に行っていた寄贈者(当時9歳)は、母の死を看取ることができなかった。1945(昭和20)年4月に疎開先へ出発する際、駅まで見送ってくれたのが、母との最後の別れになった。この人形は母との思い出の品となった。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Ichimatsu ningyo (checkered doll) Donated by anonymous The donor's mother bought this ichimatsu ningyo (checkered doll) to celebrate her birth. Her mother (then, 38) was struck by the bomb during demolition work. She suffered severe burns all over her body except for her chest. The donor's father and eldest brother treated her, but she passed away at a relief station on August 24. The donor (then, 9) was living away from Hiroshima under an evacuation program for school children and therefore was not able to attend her mother's death. In April 1945, her mother had seen her off at the station as she left for her evacuation destination. That became the final farewell for her and her mother. |
