| 内容 | 寄贈者・藤谷尚三さん(当時10歳)の母・千代さん(当時42歳)は、自宅兼店舗で被爆。近所の寿司屋の奥さんと柳橋まで逃げたとのことだが、そのまま行方不明となった。広島高等師範学校附属山中高等女学校1年生だった姉の幸子(ゆきこ)さん(当時13歳)は、学徒動員先である雑魚場町の建物疎開作業にでかけたまま行方不明になった。父・敬司(けいじ)さん(当時48歳)が、何日も捜しまわったが、二人の遺骨すら見つけることは出来なかった。この金庫は、自宅焼け跡に残っていたもの。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Portable safe Donated by Shozo Fujitani 800m from the hypocenter Horikawa-cho (now, Shintenchi) Chiyo (then, 42), the mother of the donor, Shozo Fujitani (then, 10), experienced the atomic bombing in their home, which doubled as a store. She went missing while trying to flee. Yukiko (then, 13), the donor’s older sister, was a first-year student at Yamanaka Girls High School attached to Hiroshima Women’s Higher School of Education who had been mobilized for building demolition and went missing. Shozo’s father, Keiji (then, 48) spent many days looking for them, but was unable to even find their remains. This safe was found in the burned out remains of their home. |
