| 内容 | 森克則さん（当時20歳）は、中国配電（現在の中国電力）に勤めていたが、8月1日に召集され、6日に二葉の里（爆心地から1,700m）で被爆した。克則さんは、そこから己斐の山まで歩き、己斐からまた東原の自宅まで歩いて帰ってきた。帰ってきた時、克則さんは無傷で元気だったため、父の伊佐吉さんは克則さんを部隊へいったん戻らせた。しかし次に戻ってきた時には、克則さんの髪の毛は全て抜け落ちていた。その後、克則さんは31日に亡くなるまでずっと寝たきりだった。克則さんは水を欲しがったが、飲ませてはいけないと聞いていたため、誰も飲ますことができず、克則さんは自分で水場まで這っていたという。 これは克則さんが被爆時に履いていた軍靴。 克則さんの弟で、県立広島工業学校1年生だった光男さん（当時13歳）も、爆心地から約700メートルの中島新町(現在の中島町)で建物疎開作業中に被爆し、元安橋の下手の石段で座っている状態で亡くなっているのを、母のイツノさんによって発見された。 |

All of his hair fell out and he was permanently bedridden until he passed away on the 31st. He wanted water, but his family had heard that victims must not be given water to drink, and so nobody gave him any. Setsuko says that Katsunori crawled out by himself in the middle of the night to a place where there was water. His younger brother Mitsuo was exposed to the bombing while helping building demolition as a mobilized student. His family became worried about Mitsuo when he did not return home, and they went in search of him. It was his mother who found Mitsuo, on the 9th. He had passed away still sitting on the stone steps of the Motoyasu Bridge. Setsuko says his mother recognized him as her own child from a bag she had sewn herself, some remnants of his burned clothing, and the mark left over from a swelling on his head. |
