Situation |
After the morning meeting, I had been granted permission to sleep a bit until 10 AM, and I was half asleep when exposed to the atomic bomb. I managed to free myself from the seriously damaged building. I then helped some of my fellow soldiers to become free from the rubble, and also assisted in relief efforts at a first-aid station in Hijiyama. Afterwards, I got on a truck taking injured persons to Ujina. We constructed a nursing care station at the training department and provided nursing care there. I also helped to transport dead bodies and provide liaison with headquarters. Several days later, I was discharged from the military and went home. |
