| Description | Donation / Sazan Inc. Approx. 490m from the hypocenter Hirataya-cho (now, Hondori)This ventilation window was on the Hiroshima Branch of the Obayashi Corporation. The blast smashed in the building’s roof and splintered the arch-shaped window. Fire entirely gutted the interior. Because the office was scheduled for evacuation to Hatsukaichi on August 6, a Shinto building purification ceremony was planned for that day. Three employees died instantly, and a fourth died a month later. The building was later used by the Hondori Branch of Yamaguchi Bank. When the building was rebuilt in 2002, the air exchange window bearing marks of the bombing was preserved and donated to the museum. |
