| Description | This watch belonged to Michiko Ishil's mother Itsu Ishii (then 49). Itsu was exposed to the A-bomb while demolishing buildings. She was badly burned and found in the river by her son Shigetoshi (then 19). Shigetoshi swam out to where Itsu was floating, carried her to the other bank where the hospital was, but Itsu died on the way. The donor's father Shigeru (then 57) was trapped under his collapsed house and died. Shigetoshi, too, suddenly fell ill and died on August 24. |
