Description | The Tsujiyama Family (Watches) Donated by Moriyoshi Iwataki (Acquaintance) Sakan-cho (now, Honkawa-cho 1-chome) 500m from the hypocenter Haruo Tsujiyama (then, 32) ran a watch shop. He experienced the atomic bombing at home with his wife, Masuko (then, 30) and younger brother, Hikoshi (then, 17). Although their remains were found, his grandfather, Tomokichi, who had also lived with them, was never found. These watches with melted glass and missing hands had been left at Tsujiyama's watch shop by the donor. They had been placed in a bomb shelter for safe keeping. |
