Description Tadaaki Hizume (then, 12), a first-year student of Hiroshima Municipal Junior High School, was exposed to the A-bomb during building demolition work as a mobilized student (*note). The classmate says that Tadaaki stood up for a moment but collapsed again and died reaching his hand toward his fleeing friends. Tadaaki's body has not yet been found.
*Mobilized student: To compensate for the labor shortage, students were forced to work like adults in military factories.
