| Description | Misaoko's first son, Makoto Otani (then 12), was a student at Hiroshima Municipal High School. Exposed to the bomb while demolishing buildings, he suffered serious burns over his entire body and died early in the morning on August 7. Misaoko was injured and unable to go get his ashes and belongings. She finally did so 39 days after the bombing. |
