| Description | This was found in the ruins of Hirozo's father's soy sauce factory. Grandfather Kozo (then 51), grandmother Hisa (then 46), and aunt Tomiko (then 20) all experienced the bombing in the building in Kawara-machi that was both factory and home. Kozo was trapped under the house and burned to death. Hisa managed to crawl out but died on August 28. Tomiko also crawled out and escaped by jumping in the river. She, too, died on September 1. |
