| Description | Lunchbox Donation / Shikayo Mutsuoka Approx. 900m from the hypocenter Koami-cho Yoshiro Mutsuoka (then 13), a first-year student at Municipal Junior High School, was a mobilized student exposed to the bomb while demolishing buildings. His father Shimaichi (then 41), his mother Shikayo (then 40), and his grandmother Kyau (then 69) were exposed at their home in Fukushima-cho. They fled to the riverbank. When they returned to get their valuables, they found Yoshiro, who had just returned burned over his whole body, his eyes burnt shut. He also had a large gash in his back. The family laid out Yoshiro on futon (bedding) on the riverbank. Yoshiro's futon was wet by the black rain. |
