| Description | Deformed glass bottle Donated by Toshizo Nishimura Approx. 850 m from the hypocenter Kawara-machi Kozo Nishimura (then, 51), his wife Hisa (then, 46), and their daughter Fumiko (then, 20) were relaxing in their living room after breakfast when the bomb fell. Kozo was trapped and burned to death under the fallen house. Hisa and Fumiko, who managed to escape, died some time later. The couple’s son Toshizo, who was stationed on Etajima Island, entered the city three days later to find the family home and factory reduced to rubble. |
