Description | This bowl was found in the burnt ruins of Yamamoto Buddhist altar store, which was also the family home. Store owner Tadaichi Yamamoto was exposed to the bombing on his way back from labor service and was never found. His wife Shizuko was at home and took refuge in the home of Tadaichi's younger sister, Namiko. A month later, Shizuko died of A-bomb disease. Namiko preserved this rice bowl carefully in memory of Tadaichi and Shizuko. |
