Description | Pipe Donation / Tadashi Nakagawa Approx. 1,250m from the hypocenter Kami-nagarekawa-cho (now, Kami-nobori-cho) Mine Nakagawa was exposed at home. She had raised her nephew, Takeo Matsui (then, 42), as her own after he lost his father. Takeo routinely stopped by her house in the mornings on his way to work. On August 6, he returned to Mine's house despite the injuries he suffered from exposure in Minami-machi. When he arrived, however, the house was engulfed in flames, and he could not approach. He returned the next day to find Mine's headless corpse where the living room had been. After holding her and crying for some time, he carried her corpse away and cremated it. Years later in the ruins, he happened on this pipe, which Mine had loved. |
