展示説明文(英語) Sadako Sasaki was born in 1943 and exposed to the bomb when she was 2 years old. Sadako was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia 10 years after exposure. Sadako was inspired by a gift of paper cranes and started to fold paper cranes with the hope that folding 1000 would help her live.
