| 展示説明文 | 1973(昭和48)年ごろ､基町の現広島バスセンター建設工事の際､掘り出されたものです｡ 基町は､被爆当時､広島城を中心として地区の全域が軍用地でした｡被爆後の焼け跡には､つぶれた鉄かぶとや曲がった帯剣､黒焦げになった銃などが､がれきとともに散在し､その中に兵士や軍馬の死体が転がっていました｡ |
| 展示説明文（英語） | This helmet was found around 1973 during digging in the Moto-machi area for construction of the present Hiroshima Bus Center. At the time of the bombing, the Moto-machi area centered around Hiroshima Castle was military property. After the bombing, smashed metal helmets, bent swords, charred rifles, and similar items were scattered among the rubble, along with the corpses of soldiers and army horses. |
